These species are-\n<ul>\n<li>Bengal Florican, Swamp Francolin, <strong>Finn\u2019s Weaver<\/strong> <strong>(Endangered)<\/strong>, Swamp Grass Babbler, Jerdon\u2019s Babbler, Slender-billed Babbler, Black-breasted Parrotbill, Marsh Babbler, Bristled Grassbird, and Indian Grassbird.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>It recorded a total of <strong>43 grassland bird species<\/strong>, including <strong>1 Critically Endangered<\/strong>, <strong>2 Endangered, and 6 Vulnerable species<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Methodology used<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Traditional methods like visual counting<\/strong> are insufficient in surveying small, shy, and highly camouflaged birds.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Passive acoustic recording<\/strong>: The use of <strong>passive acoustic recording monitoring method<\/strong> was used for the survey.\n<ul>\n<li>The acoustic <strong>recorders were placed in tall trees<\/strong> near grasslands during the breeding season of the birds.<\/li>\n<li>The instruments recorded all the <strong>birds singing<\/strong> in the landscape.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Spectrogram:<\/strong> The surveyors used <strong>software to create a spectrogram<\/strong>, which is a graphical representation of the sound.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Birdnet:<\/strong> A tool called <strong>Birdnet<\/strong> was used to survey, which <strong>uses machine learning to try and identify species by bird song.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Importance: <\/strong>The grassland birds are considered as <strong>\u201can indicator of good health\u201d<\/strong> of an ecosystem.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Threats:<\/strong> Habitat loss and its fragmentation are threatening the future of these bird species.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News: Recently, the first ever grassland birds census was conducted in Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve (KNPTR) in Assam.
