PIB<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a scheme to provide <strong>financial support to the cooperative societies<\/strong> throughout the country<\/li>\n<li><strong>Type:<\/strong> Central Sector Scheme<\/li>\n<li><strong>Outlay:<\/strong> The scheme provides a <strong>budgetary support<\/strong> of <strong>2000 crore for a period of four years<\/strong> from 2025-26 to 2028- 29 (Rs.500 crore each year from FY 2025-26).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Financial implications:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>On the basis of grant in aid of Rs.2000 crore, NCDC will be able to <strong>raise Rs.20,000 crore<\/strong> from open market over a span of four years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Benefits<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The scheme will benefit approximately <strong>9 crore members of 13,288 Cooperative societies<\/strong> of various sectors like Dairy, Livestock, Fisheries, Sugar, Textile, Women led cooperatives across the country.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Implementation strategy and targets:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>NCDC will be the <strong>executing agency<\/strong> for this scheme for the purpose of <strong>disbursement, follow up, monitoring<\/strong> of implementation of project, and <strong>recovery<\/strong> of loan disbursed out of the fund.<\/li>\n<li>NCDC will <strong>provide loans to cooperatives either through state government or directly<\/strong>, as per NCDC guidelines.<\/li>\n<li>NCDC will provide loans to cooperatives, <strong>long term credit<\/strong> for setting up\/ modernization\/ technology upgradation\/ expansion of project facilities for various sectors and working capital to run their businesses efficiently and profitably.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Impact, including employment generation potential:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Funds provided to these cooperatives will lead to <strong>creation of income generating capital assets<\/strong> and provide cooperatives with much needed <strong>liquidity<\/strong> in the form of working capital.<\/li>\n<li>It will be an essential tool to <strong>bridge the socio-economic gap<\/strong> and increase <strong>participation of women<\/strong> in the workforce.<\/li>\n<li>It will also create widespread <strong>employment opportunities<\/strong> across different skill levels.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<table style=\"width: 100%; border-collapse: collapse; border-style: solid;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 720px;\">\n<h2>About National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC)<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The NCDC was established by an <strong>Act of Parliament in 1963<\/strong> as a <strong>statutory<\/strong> Corporation under the <strong>Ministry of Cooperation<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Functions<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Planning, promoting and financing programmes for production, processing, marketing, storage, export and import of agricultural produce, food stuffs, certain other notified commodities.<\/li>\n<li>It finances projects in the rural industrial cooperative sectors and for certain notified services in rural areas like water conservation, irrigation and micro irrigation.<\/li>\n<li>It provides direct funding of projects under its various schemes of assistance on fulfillment of stipulated conditions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News: The Union Cabinet has approved the Central Sector Scheme \u201cGrant in aid to National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC)\u201d with an outlay of Rs.2000 crore for a period of four years from 2025-26 to 2028- 29.
