PIB<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a <strong>nationwide campaign<\/strong> addressing <strong>substance abuse through prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Aim:<\/strong> It aims to <strong>foster a healthy, disciplined, and drug-free youth population<\/strong>, thereby contributing to the broader goal of national development and social well-being.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Launched on:<\/strong> Launched on 15 August 2020<\/li>\n<li><strong>Nodal Ministry:<\/strong> Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment<\/li>\n<li><strong>Strategy adopted:<\/strong> NMBA employs a three-pronged strategy \u2013\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Supply Control:<\/strong> Managed by the Narcotics Control Bureau.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Demand Reduction &amp; Awareness:<\/strong> Led by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment through extensive outreach and awareness activities.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Treatment &amp; Rehabilitation:<\/strong> Provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Background:<\/strong> It is a key initiative under the <strong>National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR).<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment launched the <strong>National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR) in 2018<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>It was according to the obligation of State under <strong>Article 47 of the Constitution<\/strong> under the Directive Principles of State Policy.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Aim:<\/strong> The NAPDDR aims to <strong>address the growing challenge of substance abuse<\/strong> through a comprehensive framework focused on preventive education, awareness generation, counselling, treatment, and rehabilitation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Coverage:<\/strong> It was <strong>initially implemented in 272 high-risk districts<\/strong>, but it is expanded to encompass <strong>all districts nationwide <\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>These districts were identified through the <strong>National Survey on Substance Use and inputs from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Stakeholders and target groups<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure id=\"attachment_344366\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-344366\" style=\"width: 484px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-344366\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Source-PIB-2-1.jpg?resize=484%2C355&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"484\" height=\"355\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Source-PIB-2-1.jpg?resize=300%2C220&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Source-PIB-2-1.jpg?resize=768%2C563&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Source-PIB-2-1.jpg?w=1002&amp;ssl=1 1002w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 484px) 100vw, 484px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-344366\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source &#8211;
