Emissions will rise for <strong>~25 years<\/strong> with growth. <strong>Fewer than 500<\/strong> trucks are electric.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Economic centrality: <\/strong>Freight contributes <strong>16% of GDP<\/strong>. Electrifying trucking affects costs, competitiveness, and air quality.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Proven domestic capability: <\/strong>At least <strong>four<\/strong> e-bus manufacturers also make e-trucks. E-buses already number <strong>11,000<\/strong> on road, with <strong>25,000+<\/strong> contracted in under <strong>three years<\/strong>\u2014all <strong>locally manufactured<\/strong> and domestically structured.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><strong>What finance and demand model should be used?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Replicate long-term fixed-revenue contracts.: <\/strong>These contracts made e-buses bankable and drew <strong>patient infrastructure capital<\/strong>. Operations must improve by at least <strong>15%<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cut delays across the chain: <\/strong>Reduce loading times, unloading times, and waiting on roadways. Saving even 15 minutes can change the economics.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Coordinate multiple actors: <\/strong>Emitters, transport providers, and highway authorities should provide priority access and smoother flows.
