{"id":345706,"date":"2025-09-04T11:22:00","date_gmt":"2025-09-04T05:52:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/?p=345706"},"modified":"2025-09-04T11:22:00","modified_gmt":"2025-09-04T05:52:00","slug":"immigration-and-foreigners-exemption-order-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/immigration-and-foreigners-exemption-order-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Immigration and Foreigners (Exemption) Order, 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>News<\/strong>&#8211; The Central Government has issued the Immigration and Foreigners (Exemption) Order, 2025, under the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025.<\/p>\n<h2>Key Highlights of the Order<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"113\" data-end=\"155\"><strong>Exemption for armed forces personnel- <\/strong>Indian armed forces personnel on official duty, and their families traveling on government transport, are exempt from immigration requirements.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"305\" data-end=\"347\"><strong>India\u2013Nepal and India\u2013Bhutan Borders<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"350\" data-end=\"419\">Indian citizens entering via Nepal or Bhutan (land\/air) are exempt.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"422\" data-end=\"552\">Nepali and Bhutanese citizens are exempt when entering India through their borders or traveling elsewhere with a valid passport.\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"555\" data-end=\"630\"><em>Not applicable<\/em> to entries from China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Pakistan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tibetan refugees and minority communities<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Registered Tibetan refugees in India are exempt.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"735\" data-end=\"942\">Persecuted minorities (Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis, Christians) from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan who entered before <em>31 Dec 2024<\/em> are exempt, regardless of travel document validity.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"945\" data-end=\"1019\">Sri Lankan Tamils who took refuge up to <em>9 Jan 2015<\/em> are also covered.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Foreign nationals with special status- <\/strong>Exemptions apply to:\n<ul>\n<li>Holders of <em>diplomatic\/official passports<\/em> under agreements.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1134\" data-end=\"1192\">Nationals from designated <em>visa-on-arrival<\/em> countries.<\/li>\n<li><em>Foreign military personnel<\/em> on naval warships for exercises, goodwill visits, bunkering, or disaster relief (unless notified otherwise).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News&#8211; The Central Government has issued the Immigration and Foreigners (Exemption) Order, 2025, under the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025.
