The 2025 theme\u2014\u201cAyurveda for People &amp; Planet\u201d links wellness with sustainability.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Why was Ayurveda Day 2025 fixed, and what does it signify?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Policy decision and theme: Ayurveda Day is fixed on 23 September each year.<\/strong> The theme <strong>\u201c<\/strong><strong>Ayurveda for People &amp; Planet\u201d<\/strong> presents Ayurveda as a timeless and progressive healthcare system, strengthened by <strong>education, research, and partnerships<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Equinox symbolism and philosophy: <\/strong>The <strong>autumnal equinox<\/strong> reflects near-equal day and night. This symbolises <strong>harmony and balance<\/strong>, mirroring Ayurveda\u2019s focus on <strong>equilibrium of mind, body, and spirit<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong> From variable date to global rhythm: <\/strong>This replaces the <strong>earlier Dhanteras-based variable date<\/strong>. A fixed, symbolic date supports <strong>global resonance<\/strong> and the ethos of <strong>\u201c<\/strong><strong>One World, One Family.\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><strong>What infrastructure is shaping Ayurveda\u2019<\/strong><strong>s future in India?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Anchor institutions: AIIA (New Delhi, 2017)<\/strong>, on the AIIMS model, holds <strong>NAAC A++<\/strong>. <strong>ITRA (Jamnagar)<\/strong> is the <strong>first INI in Ayush<\/strong>, and <strong>NIA (Jaipur)<\/strong> is a <strong>Deemed-to-be University<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong> Recent expansion at AIIA: <\/strong>In <strong>2024<\/strong>, AIIA added a <strong>Panchakarma hospital<\/strong>, <strong>sports medicine unit<\/strong>, <strong>Ayurvedic pharmacy<\/strong>, <strong>start-up incubation centre<\/strong>, and <strong>international guest facilities<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Standards and research ecosystem: CCRAS<\/strong> advances <strong>evidence-based research<\/strong>. <strong>PCIM&amp;H<\/strong> sets <strong>quality benchmarks<\/strong>, creating a cohesive <strong>R&amp;D and standards<\/strong> framework.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><strong>How is India globalising Ayurveda?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li><strong> International Cooperation Scheme outcomes: <\/strong>India has <strong>25 country-level MoUs<\/strong> and <strong>52 institutional MoUs<\/strong>. This elevates <strong>standards and credibility<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Diplomacy and technology: <\/strong>The <strong>2023 Group of Friends of Traditional Medicine<\/strong>, initiated by India, advances policy dialogue. A <strong>WHO brief on AI in Traditional Medicine<\/strong> highlighted <strong>India<\/strong><strong>\u2019<\/strong><strong>s pioneering AI applications in Ayush<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><strong>What is the economic footprint, and what lies ahead?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li><strong> Industry scale and growth: <\/strong>Ayush has <strong>92,000+ MSMEs<\/strong> and a market of <strong>USD 43.4 billion (83.6 lakh crore)<\/strong>. Manufacturing grew <strong>nearly six-fold (2014\u20132020)<\/strong> and <strong>almost eight-fold by 2022<\/strong> (projections).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Detailed growth metrics: RIS studies<\/strong> show manufacturing rose from <strong>721,697 crore (USD 2.85 billion) in 2014\u201315<\/strong> to <strong>71,37,800 crore (USD 18.1 billion) in 2020<\/strong>.
