Hence, all four are riparian stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tribunal and final award (1990<\/strong><strong>\u20132007)<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal (CWDT)<\/strong> was set up in <strong>1990<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>After <strong>17 years<\/strong>, it issued a <strong>final order in 2007 <\/strong>allocating water in a <strong>normal year total of 740 TMC<\/strong> as follows:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Tamil Nadu:<\/strong> 404.25 TMC<\/li>\n<li><strong>Karnataka:<\/strong> 284.75 TMC<\/li>\n<li><strong>Kerala:<\/strong> 30 TMC<\/li>\n<li><strong>Puducherry:<\/strong> 7 TMC<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Supreme Court and implementation (2018): <\/strong>In <strong>2018<\/strong>, the <strong>Supreme Court<\/strong> declared the <strong>Cauvery a national asset<\/strong> and largely upheld the CWDT\u2019s sharing arrangement.\n<ul>\n<li>It directed the Union Government to <strong>notify a management scheme.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Management framework (June 2018): <\/strong>The Centre notified the <strong>Cauvery Water Management Scheme<\/strong>, creating the <strong>Cauvery Water Management Authority (CWMA)<\/strong> and the <strong>Cauvery Water Regulation Committee (CWRC)<\/strong> to oversee and regulate implementation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News\u00a0: Karnataka Chief Minister said there will be no disputes with Tamil Nadu over sharing Cauvery water this year.
