implementation.<\/p>\n<p>The National Logistics Policy (NLP), launched on 17 September 2022, aimed to transform India\u2019s logistics ecosystem by reducing costs, improving efficiency, and enabling seamless multimodal connectivity.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Key Objectives:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Reduce logistics costs to global benchmarks.<\/li>\n<li>Improve India\u2019s ranking in the Logistics Performance Index (LPI) to the top 25 by 2030.<\/li>\n<li>Strengthen digitization, skill development, and regulatory reforms.<\/li>\n<li>Promote sustainable and green logistics practices.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><strong>Major Achievements (2022\u20132025):<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li><strong> Digital Integration and Real-Time Visibility<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP<\/strong>) has enabled more than 160 crore digital transactions, linking over 30 digital systems securely.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>Logistics Data Bank<\/strong> has tracked more than 75 million EXIM containers across 101 Inland Container Depots, providing real-time visibility and streamlining operations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong> Performance Assessment<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Logistics Ease Across Different States (LEADS) index <\/strong>now includes new parameters such as digital logistics and sustainability metrics.<\/li>\n<li>As a result of these initiatives, India improved its rank to the 38th position in the World Bank\u2019s Logistics Performance Index.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong> Infrastructure Development<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Large-scale <strong>Multi-Modal Logistics Parks (MMLPs)<\/strong> are being developed to integrate customs clearance, cold storage, and packaging services.<\/li>\n<li><strong>City Logistics Plans<\/strong> have been introduced to reduce traffic congestion, pollution, and logistics costs in urban areas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><strong> Policy Reforms and Stakeholder Engagement<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>E-Logs portal<\/strong> has resolved more than 100 issues raised by industry associations, improving ease of doing business.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>Service Improvement Group (SIG)<\/strong> has been established to address policy and regulatory challenges faced by stakeholders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li><strong> Green and Sustainable Logistics<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Transportation Emissions Measurement Tool (TEMT)<\/strong>, aligned with ISO 14083 standards, has been developed to monitor emissions in logistics.<\/li>\n<li>Logistics providers are being encouraged <strong>to adopt renewable energy and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li><strong> Skill Development and Capacity Building<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>More than <strong>65,000 professionals have been trained <\/strong>between 2023 and 2025 to strengthen logistics capacities.<\/li>\n<li>Over <strong>100 universities have introduced logistics-related courses,<\/strong> and new programs have been launched with GatiShakti Vishwavidyalaya.<\/li>\n<li>A <strong>Centre of Excellence for City Logistics<\/strong> has trained over 100 officials and conducted more than 250 workshops for government personnel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li><strong> Sectoral Policy for Efficient Logistics (SPEL)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>A <strong>Coal Logistics Policy and Integrated Coal Logistics Plan<\/strong> have been notified, while the Cement SPEL has been finalized.<\/li>\n<li>Draft plans for steel, fertilizer, and food processing sectors are under preparation to promote multimodal and cost-efficient transport.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Challenges:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Infrastructure<\/strong> <strong>gaps and <\/strong>need for<strong> regulatory harmonization.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Limited digital literacy<\/strong> among small logistics operators.<\/li>\n<li>Requirement for<strong> better inter-agency coordination<\/strong> at State and Central levels.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Way Forward:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Strengthen multimodal integration<\/strong> under PM GatiShakti.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Expand public-private partnerships<\/strong> and innovative financing.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Promote gender inclusion<\/strong> and digital skilling in logistics.<\/li>\n<li>Finalize pending <strong>State policies and
