mixed.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Inclusion in the Tentative List <strong>is a prerequisite for nomination to the World Heritage List. <\/strong><\/li>\n<li>This milestone <strong>reflects India<\/strong><strong>\u2019<\/strong><strong>s commitment to preserving natural and cultural legacy.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) compiled and submitted the entries, receiving appreciation from India\u2019s Permanent Representative to UNESCO.<\/li>\n<li><strong>India hosted the 46th World Heritage Committee Session in July 2024 at New Delh<\/strong>i, with over 2000 delegates from more than 140 countries.<\/li>\n<li><strong>7 New sites are &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<table style=\"width: 98.4336%;height: 2219px\" width=\"214\"><strong>Karnataka<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"555\">\n<ul>\n<li>Known for its <strong>rare columnar basaltic rock formations<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>This island cluster dates back to the <strong>Late Cretaceous period<\/strong>, offering a geological snapshot from around 85 million years ago.<\/li>\n<li>It have been declared as <strong>National Geological Monument by GSI since 1978. <\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The site falls under Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"194\"><strong>Meghalayan Age Caves<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"214\"><strong>Meghalaya<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"555\">\n<ul>\n<li>This cave systems serve as the <strong>global reference point for the Meghalayan Age in the Holocene Epoch<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>This reflect <strong style=\"font-family: inherit;font-size: inherit\">significant climate and geological transitions.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Mawmluh cave has already been listed among the <strong style=\"font-family: inherit;font-size: inherit\">global first 100 geologically important site<\/strong><span style=\"font-family: inherit;font-size: inherit\"> in the world.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"194\"><strong>Naga Hill Ophiolite<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"214\"><strong>Nagaland (situated within one of the 18 mega biodiversity hotspots)<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"555\">\n<ul>\n<li>It is a<strong> rare exposure of ophiolite rocks.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>These hills <strong style=\"font-family: inherit;font-size: inherit\">represent oceanic crust uplifted onto continental plates<\/strong><span style=\"font-family: inherit;font-size: inherit\">\u2014offering deep insights into tectonic processes and mid-ocean ridge dynamics.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>The site <strong style=\"font-family: inherit;font-size: inherit\">overlaps with Fakim Wildlife sanctuary.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong style=\"font-family:
