About<\/strong><\/td>\nThe EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) is a regulation aimed at reducing global deforestation and forest degradation.<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Objectives<\/strong><\/td>\n\n

  • To ensure that the listed products consumed, used, and purchased by Europeans do not contribute to deforestation or forest degradation<\/strong>, both within the EU and globally.<\/li>\n
  • To cut carbon emissions caused by the EU’s consumption and production of these commodities<\/strong> by at least 32 million metric tonnes annually.<\/li>\n
  • To tackle deforestation<\/strong> resulting from agricultural expansion for the production of commodities covered by the regulation, as well as address forest degradation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Commodities Covered<\/strong><\/td>\nIt applies to timber and six key agricultural commodities<\/strong> along with products derived<\/strong> from them: Cattle, cocoa, coffee, oil palm, rubber, soy and Products include beef, furniture, chocolate, among others.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
