{"id":347729,"date":"2025-10-10T17:17:06","date_gmt":"2025-10-10T11:47:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/?p=347729"},"modified":"2025-10-10T17:17:06","modified_gmt":"2025-10-10T11:47:06","slug":"paramparagat-krishi-vikas-yojana-pkvy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/paramparagat-krishi-vikas-yojana-pkvy\/","title":{"rendered":"Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>News: <\/strong>As of January 30, 2025, the Government of India has released \u20b92,265.86 crore under Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY), highlighting its significant contribution to sustainable agriculture, rural digitization, and inclusive market access.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify\">About Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY)<\/h2>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/static.pib.gov.in\/WriteReadData\/userfiles\/image\/image0056312.jpg?resize=327%2C285&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"327\" height=\"285\" \/><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li><strong>Launched in:<\/strong> <strong>2015<\/strong> under the <strong>National Mission for Sustainable Agriculture (NMSA)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Aim:<\/strong> To promote and support organic farming, thereby contributing to the enhancement of soil health.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Objectives: <\/strong>\u00a0To advance a scalable model of eco-agriculture that integrates low-cost, chemical-free techniques with farmer-led collectives, enhancing food safety, income generation, and environmental sustainability.<\/li>\n<li>PKVY provides farmers with a <strong>structured system for training, certification, and market linkage and <\/strong>supports the vision of <strong>resilient and sustainable agriculture.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It is <strong>open to all farmers and institutions<\/strong>, subject to a <strong>maximum landholding limit of two hectares<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Financial Assistance Structure:<\/strong> Farmers receive <strong>\u20b931,500 per hectare for a three-year period.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Cluster-Based Organic Farming Model<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>The foundation of PKVY lies in the <strong>cluster approach<\/strong>, where farmers are grouped into <strong>clusters of 20 hectares<\/strong> each.<\/li>\n<li>It encourages <strong>collective adoption<\/strong> of organic practices to ensure <strong>uniform standards<\/strong> and <strong>cost efficiency<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>It promotes <strong>resource-sharing<\/strong> among farmers for composting, input preparation, and seed exchange.<\/li>\n<li>It enables farmers to reduce chemical dependency, improve soil health, and adopt <strong>diversified, sustainable cropping systems<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>It includes <strong>training, capacity building, and exposure visits<\/strong> to equip farmers with practical organic farming skills and confidence for transition.<\/li>\n<li>It builds a <strong>scalable model of eco-agriculture<\/strong> integrating <strong>low-cost, chemical-free techniques<\/strong> with <strong>farmer-led initiatives<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Organic Certification Systems<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>PKVY has established <strong>two primary certification systems<\/strong>, along with a special fast-track program:<\/p>\n<table style=\"border-collapse: collapse;width: 100%;height: 494px\">\n<tbody>\n<tr style=\"height: 284px\">\n<td style=\"width: 23.4631%;height: 284px\"><strong>Third-Party Certification (NPOP)<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 76.6393%;height: 284px\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>It is i<\/strong>mplemented under the <strong>National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP)<\/strong> by the <strong>Ministry of Commerce &amp; Industry and <\/strong>conducted by <strong>Accredited Certification Agencies<\/strong> to ensure <strong>international standard compliance<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"4346\" data-end=\"4437\">Covers the <strong data-start=\"4357\" data-end=\"4387\">entire organic value chain<\/strong> \u2014 production, processing, trading, and exports.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"4443\" data-end=\"4527\">Enables farmers to <strong data-start=\"4462\" data-end=\"4495\">access global organic markets<\/strong> and export certified produce.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr style=\"height: 210px\">\n<td style=\"width: 23.4631%;height: 210px\"><strong>Participatory Guarantee System for India (PGS-India)<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 76.6393%;height: 210px\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong> It is m<\/strong>anaged by the <strong>Ministry of Agriculture &amp;
