Context: <\/strong>India is facing an unprecedented mental health crisis<\/strong>, with nearly 230 million Indians<\/strong> living with mental health disorders ranging from depression and anxiety to substance use and suicidal tendencies. Despite progressive legal frameworks like the Mental Healthcare Act, 2017<\/strong>, and initiatives such as Tele-MANAS<\/strong> and the National Mental Health Programme (NMHP)<\/strong>, the country continues to struggle with access, affordability, and stigma in mental healthcare.<\/p>\n

Current Status and Data<\/strong><\/h2>\n

  1. According to NCRB\u2019s ADSI 2023 report<\/strong>, India recorded 1,71,418 suicides<\/strong>, a 3% rise<\/strong> from the previous year.<\/li>\n
