{"id":348323,"date":"2025-10-17T17:16:16","date_gmt":"2025-10-17T11:46:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/?p=348323"},"modified":"2025-10-17T17:16:16","modified_gmt":"2025-10-17T11:46:16","slug":"prime-minister-internship-scheme-pmis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/prime-minister-internship-scheme-pmis\/","title":{"rendered":"Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>News: <\/strong>On 15 October 2025 at Hampi, Karnataka, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman interacted with interns of the Prime Minister Internship Scheme.<\/p>\n<h2>About Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS)<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_348328\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-348328\" style=\"width: 365px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-348328\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Source-MoCA.jpg?resize=365%2C190&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"365\" height=\"190\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Source-MoCA.jpg?resize=300%2C156&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Source-MoCA.jpg?resize=768%2C399&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Source-MoCA.jpg?w=890&amp;ssl=1 890w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 365px) 100vw, 365px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-348328\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source &#8211; MoCA<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li>It provides <strong>12-month internships<\/strong> in India\u2019s <strong>top 500 companies<\/strong> to bridge academic learning and real-world experience and enhance youth employability.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong><span style=\"color: #993366\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Nodal Ministry:<\/span> <\/span><\/strong>It<\/span> is implemented by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Aim: <\/strong>It aims to provide <strong>12-month internship <\/strong>opportunities to <strong>one crore youth aged 21\u201324 years <\/strong>in the <strong>country<\/strong><strong>\u2019<\/strong><strong>s top 500 <\/strong>companies <strong>over five years.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Purpose: <\/strong>It seeks to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry needs by <strong>enabling 12-month exposure<\/strong> to real business environments, training, and skill development that enhances employability.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Eligibility<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicants must be Indian citizens <strong>aged 21\u201324 years.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>They must have at least secondary education; ITI certificates, polytechnic diplomas, or graduation degrees are acceptable.<\/li>\n<li>The scheme targets youth from low-income households (family\u2019s annual income should be less than Rs. 8 lakh.)<\/li>\n<li>Individuals not eligible for this scheme including<\/li>\n<li>Graduates from IITs, IIMs, National Law Universities, IISERs, NID, and IIIT, as well as degree holders like CA, CMA, CS, MBBS, BDS, MBA, or master\u2019s degree holders.<\/li>\n<li>Candidates who have already participated in a government internship or apprenticeship or<\/li>\n<li>Whose parents are permanent employees of the government also cannot benefit from this scheme.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Key feature<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The Scheme is <strong>separate from all the existing schemes<\/strong> related to skill development, apprenticeships, internship and student training programmes, etc. being implemented across all the States &amp; UTs of India, and will run independently of all such Central\/State schemes.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Monthly stipend is \u20b95,000:<\/strong> \u20b9<strong>4,500 via Direct Benefit Transfer<\/strong> from the government and \u20b9500 from participating companies <strong>through CSR funds.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>A one-time joining grant of <\/strong>\u20b9<strong>6,000 is <\/strong>provided to each intern.<\/li>\n<li>These internships span <strong>24 sectors<\/strong>, including oil, gas, energy, travel, hospitality, automotive, banking, and financial services.<\/li>\n<li>All interns are covered under government insurance schemes, including <strong>Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News: On 15 October 2025 at Hampi, Karnataka, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman interacted with interns of the Prime Minister Internship Scheme.
