{"id":349132,"date":"2025-11-03T12:17:29","date_gmt":"2025-11-03T06:47:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/?p=349132"},"modified":"2025-11-03T12:17:29","modified_gmt":"2025-11-03T06:47:29","slug":"unesco-creative-cities-network-uccn-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/unesco-creative-cities-network-uccn-2\/","title":{"rendered":"UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>News:<\/strong> Prime Minister has congratulated Lucknow after UNESCO has named it a Creative City of Gastronomy, recognising its famous and diverse food heritage.<\/p>\n<h2>About UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN)<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_349134\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-349134\" style=\"width: 302px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-349134\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Source-PIB.jpg?resize=302%2C373&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"302\" height=\"373\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Source-PIB.jpg?resize=243%2C300&amp;ssl=1 243w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Source-PIB.jpg?w=704&amp;ssl=1 704w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 302px) 100vw, 302px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-349134\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source &#8211; PIB<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li>The UNESCO Creative Cities Network (<strong>UCCN<\/strong>) is a project of the <strong>United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Launch and Objective:<\/strong> It was <strong>launched in 2004<\/strong> to promote <strong>cooperation among cities<\/strong> which recognized creativity as a major factor in their urban development.<\/li>\n<li><strong>List:<\/strong> As of November 1, 2025, <strong>408 cities<\/strong> across <strong>more than 100 countries<\/strong>\u00a0are part of this network which <strong>aims<\/strong> towards a common objective of <strong>placing creativity and cultural industries<\/strong> at the heart of their development plans.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Creative fields covered:<\/strong> The network covers <strong>seven creative fields<\/strong> namely \u2013\n<ul>\n<li>crafts and folk arts<\/li>\n<li>media arts<\/li>\n<li>film<\/li>\n<li>design<\/li>\n<li>gastronomy<\/li>\n<li>literature<\/li>\n<li>music<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>By joining the Network, <strong>cities commit to sharing their best practices <\/strong>and <strong>developing partnerships<\/strong> involving the public and private sectors as well as civil society.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Indian Cities in the UCCN<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>There are <strong>nine\u00a0Indian cities<\/strong> as a part of the network. These are-\n<ul>\n<li>Kozhikode (Literature)<\/li>\n<li>Gwalior (Music)<\/li>\n<li>Jaipur (Crafts and Folk Arts)<\/li>\n<li>Varanasi (Music)<\/li>\n<li>Chennai (Music)<\/li>\n<li>Mumbai (Film)<\/li>\n<li>Hyderabad (Gastronomy)<\/li>\n<li>Srinagar (Crafts and Folk Arts)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Lukhnow (Gastronomy) &#8211; <\/strong>Latest to be included.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News: Prime Minister has congratulated Lucknow after UNESCO has named it a Creative City of Gastronomy, recognising its famous and diverse food heritage.
