{"id":350487,"date":"2025-11-22T11:59:04","date_gmt":"2025-11-22T06:29:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/?p=350487"},"modified":"2025-11-22T11:59:04","modified_gmt":"2025-11-22T06:29:04","slug":"saral-sims","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/saral-sims\/","title":{"rendered":"SARAL SIMS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>News<\/strong>&#8211; The Ministry of Steel launched the SARAL Steel Import Monitoring System (SIMS) portal for simplified import registration.<\/p>\n<h2>About SARAL SIMS<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"490\" data-end=\"673\"><strong data-start=\"490\" data-end=\"512\">Purpose &amp; Coverage- <\/strong>SARAL SIMS streamlines SIMS registration for small steel imports and for exports-related procurement under <strong data-start=\"625\" data-end=\"672\">Advance Authorisation, Special Economic Zone (SEZ), and Export Oriented Unit (EOU) schemes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"678\" data-end=\"833\"><strong data-start=\"678\" data-end=\"695\">Applicability- <\/strong>It covers iron and steel items under Chapters 72, 73, and 86 of the Indian Trade Classification (Harmonized System), 2022.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"838\" data-end=\"1078\"><strong data-start=\"838\" data-end=\"867\">Single Annual Declaration-<\/strong> Importers need to declare only the total intended annual import quantity once, after which a single SARAL SIMS number is issued and can be used for multiple consignments in that financial year.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1083\" data-end=\"1246\"><strong data-start=\"1083\" data-end=\"1114\">Small-Import Category Limit- <\/strong>Allows consignments up to <strong data-start=\"1146\" data-end=\"1155\">10 MT<\/strong>, with an annual cap of <strong data-start=\"1179\" data-end=\"1204\">500 MT for FY 2025\u201326<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1209\" data-end=\"1245\">1,000 MT from FY 2026\u201327 onwards<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1251\" data-end=\"1422\"><strong data-start=\"1251\" data-end=\"1289\">No Limit for Export-Linked Imports-<\/strong> Imports for export production via SEZ, EOU, or Advance Authorisation routes carry no quantity restriction under SARAL SIMS.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1427\" data-end=\"1470\"><strong>Validity, Compliance &amp; Threshold Rule<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"1476\" data-end=\"1559\">SARAL SIMS number remains valid till <strong data-start=\"1513\" data-end=\"1556\">30th April of the following fiscal year<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1565\" data-end=\"1639\"><strong data-start=\"1565\" data-end=\"1610\">Annual Return must be filed by 30th April<\/strong>, detailing actual imports.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1645\" data-end=\"1793\">If imports exceed <strong data-start=\"1663\" data-end=\"1685\">1,000 MT in a year<\/strong>, the importer must shift to <strong data-start=\"1714\" data-end=\"1730\">regular SIMS<\/strong> for the rest of that year and <strong data-start=\"1761\" data-end=\"1778\">cannot revert<\/strong> to SARAL SIMS.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News&#8211; The Ministry of Steel launched the SARAL Steel Import Monitoring System (SIMS) portal for simplified import registration.
