electrodes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Components and Working Mechanism<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Anode:<\/strong> The anode in a<\/span><b> zinc-ion battery is composed of metallic zinc, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">which serves as the source of zinc ions during discharge.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Cathode:<\/strong> The<\/span><b> cathode<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> is generally<\/span><b> made from materials such as manganese oxides or vanadium oxides<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, both of which can reversibly intercalate zinc ions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The<\/span><b> electrolyte<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> is a zinc-containing aqueous solution that conducts zinc ions between the anode and cathode.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">During discharge,<\/span><b> zinc metal at the anode is oxidized into zinc ions,<\/b><span <strong>z<\/strong><\/span><strong>inc<\/strong><b> ions migrate back to the anode and are reduced to metallic zinc, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">restoring the battery to its charged state.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Advantages of Zinc-Ion Batteries<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Zinc-ion batteries are <strong>cost-effective<\/strong> because zinc is abundant, inexpensive, and widely available, which helps reduce production costs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">They provide <strong>enhanced safety<\/strong> since aqueous electrolytes <strong>eliminate the fire and explosion risks<\/strong> commonly associated with lithium-ion batteries.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ZIBs are <strong>environmentally friendly and generate fewer harmful by products<\/strong> during manufacturing, usage, and disposal.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">They <strong>offer high improvements, <strong>these batteries can now achieve long cycle life,<\/strong> with some systems lasting thousands of charge\u2013discharge cycles with minimal
