If the deficit is over this limit, it must be significantly reduced.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sound Public Finances (Debt): <\/strong>Government debt should not exceed 60% of GDP. If it exceeds this level, it should be converging sustainably towards it.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Exchange-Rate Stability: <\/strong>The country must participate in the Exchange Rate Mechanism (ERM II) for at least two years.
