These include:\n<ul>\n<li>Electric vehicle batteries for L category vehicles<\/li>\n<li>Electric vehicle batteries for M and N category vehicles<\/li>\n<li>Industrial batteries with a capacity of more than 2kWh<\/li>\n<li>This ensures that <strong>both mobility-related and large-capacity batteries are covered<\/strong> under a <strong>single traceability framework<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Information stored in BPAN:<\/strong> Each Battery Pack Aadhaar will <strong>store detailed technical and environmental data<\/strong>, including:\n<ul>\n<li>Battery Manufacturer Identifier<\/li>\n<li>Battery Descriptor and Identifier details<\/li>\n<li>Battery material composition<\/li>\n<li>Battery carbon footprint<\/li>\n<li>Dynamic data related to battery performance and usage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Information stored in BPAN:<\/strong> Each Battery Pack Aadhaar will <strong>store detailed technical and environmental data<\/strong>, including:\n<ul>\n<li>Battery Manufacturer Identifier<\/li>\n<li>Battery Descriptor and Identifier details<\/li>\n<li>Battery material composition<\/li>\n<li>Battery carbon footprint<\/li>\n<li>Dynamic data related to battery performance and usage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Significance<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The move is intended to bring <strong>greater transparency, accountability and sustainability<\/strong> to India\u2019s rapidly expanding electric mobility ecosystem.<\/li>\n<li>It system will help <strong>address growing concerns around battery safety<\/strong>, <strong>environmental impact and improper disposal<\/strong> as EV adoption accelerates across the country.<\/li>\n<li>It will function as a <strong>digital identity<\/strong> for batteries, enabling regulators, manufacturers and recyclers to access verified information on origin, chemistry, ownership history and end-of-life status.<\/li>\n<li>The proposal also <strong>aligns with broader policy goals around circular economy<\/strong> practices and responsible resource management.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News: The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is proposing a mandatory identification system for electric vehicle batteries through a unique 21-character \u201cBattery Pack Aadhaar Number\u201d (BPAN).
