The EU resists due to\u00a0sensitive domestic producers\u00a0(e.g., textile makers in Italy\/Portugal, farmers in France\/Poland) and non-tariff barriers like stringent\u00a0Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) measures.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Non-Tariff Barriers:\u00a0<\/strong><span class=\"citation-329\">For Indian exporters, the biggest challenge isn&#8217;t the tariff anymore; it&#8217;s the <\/span><b data-path-to-node=\"6\" data-index-in-node=\"79\"><span class=\"citation-329\">Non-Tariff Barriers\u00a0<\/span><\/b><span class=\"citation-329\">like:<\/span>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\">\n<li><b data-path-to-node=\"7,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">CBAM (Carbon Tax):<\/b> The EU&#8217;s <b data-path-to-node=\"7,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"28\">Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism<\/b> is set to enter its full definitive phase. Even with the FTA, Indian steel and aluminum exporters may still have to pay a &#8220;carbon cost&#8221; or face 15\u201322% price cuts to stay competitive unless they drastically green their production.<\/li>\n<li><b data-path-to-node=\"7,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">EUDR (Deforestation Regulation):<\/b> New EU rules (phasing in through late 2026) require proof that products like coffee, rubber, and leather did not come from deforested land.
