{"id":356666,"date":"2026-02-24T14:29:07","date_gmt":"2026-02-24T08:59:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/?p=356666"},"modified":"2026-02-24T14:29:07","modified_gmt":"2026-02-24T08:59:07","slug":"prashad-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/prashad-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"PRASHAD scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>News:<\/strong> The Centre is planning to develop tourist sites around major temples in Andhra Pradesh under the PRASHAD scheme.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>About PRASHAD scheme<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The full form of the PRASAD scheme is <\/span><b>\u2018Pilgrimage Rejuvenation And Spiritual Augmentation Drive\u2019.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is <\/span><b>a Central Sector Scheme.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was<\/span><b> launched in the year 2014-2015<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with th<\/span><b>e objective of integrated development of identified pilgrimage and heritage destinations.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Launched by: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ministry of Tourism.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Aim: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To integrate pilgrimage destinations in a <strong>prioritised, planned and sustainable manner to provide a complete religious tourism experience.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Focus: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This scheme <strong>focuses on developing and identifying pilgrimage sites across India<\/strong> for enriching the religious tourism experience.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>Funding:<\/strong> It intends to <strong>utilize voluntary contributions through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Public-Private Partnerships (PPP)<\/strong> to strengthen the long-term sustainability of its projects.<\/li>\n<li><b>Components of the scheme: <\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Infrastructure Development: <\/b>Development of tourism infrastructure at pilgrimage sites, including basic amenities, last-mile connectivity, lighting, parking, and other facilities for visitor convenience and safety.<\/li>\n<li><b>Integrated Tourism Development of Heritage City: <\/b>Focuses on improving civic infrastructure in heritage cities.<\/li>\n<li><b>Capacity and Skill Development &amp; Knowledge Management: <\/b>Supports special courses and short-term training programs to address skill gaps, promotes local indigenous art and crafts, and ensures documentation and preservation of tourism knowledge.<\/li>\n<li><b>Online Presence: <\/b>Development of GIS-based portals, mobile applications, dashboards, and project monitoring systems to deliver tourism services, enable bookings, track progress, and support data analytics and reporting.<\/li>\n<li><b>Information, Education, and Communication activities (IEC): <\/b>IEC\u00a0activities to promote awareness and outreach for the development of identified pilgrimage destinations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News: The Centre is planning to develop tourist sites around major temples in Andhra Pradesh under the PRASHAD scheme.
