Vaccinating at 14 <strong>ensures long-lasting immunity before possible infection.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vaccination will be <\/span><b>voluntary and free of cost<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Vaccine type:<\/strong> India will <strong>use Gardasil, a quadrivalent HPV vaccine,<\/strong> for protection from HPV types 16 and 18, which cause cervical cancer, as well as types 6 and 11.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Where vaccinations will be given: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vaccines will be administered at government health facilities such as: <\/span><b>Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, Community hospitals, District hospitals and Government medical colleges.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Protection offered by the vaccine: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gardasil protects against HPV types: <\/span><b>16 and 18<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (linked to cervical cancer) and <\/span><b>6 and 11.\u00a0<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The vaccine is <\/span><b>93\u2013100% effective<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in <strong>preventing cervical cancer<\/strong> caused by covered HPV types.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Dose recommendations: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A <strong>single-dose schedule provides protection comparable to 2-dose schedules.
