{"id":35790,"date":"2018-11-01T11:47:34","date_gmt":"2018-11-01T06:17:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=35790"},"modified":"2018-11-01T11:47:34","modified_gmt":"2018-11-01T06:17:34","slug":"protect-teachers-in-private-colleges-sc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/protect-teachers-in-private-colleges-sc\/","title":{"rendered":"Protect teachers in private colleges: SC:"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/todays-paper\/tp-national\/protect-teachers-in-private-colleges-sc\/article19441380.ece\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Protect teachers in private colleges: SC<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Context<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mr. Yadav, Filed a PIL plea to end \u2018blackmail, harassment\u2019 of over four lakh teachers in various private engineering colleges, recognised by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Plea<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Moved by the petition, the court ordered that the AICTE shall take a conscious decision of issues canvassed, and take such remedial action in consonance with law.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Remedial action<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mr. Yadav, in a PIL plea, referred to the plight of over four lakh teachers in various private engineering colleges, recognised by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The court\u2019s order was in response to Mr. Yadav\u2019s fervent argument that the malpractices are hampering the technical education system of India<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The court, after a brief but thoughtful consideration, also ordered the AICTE to treat the petition as a representation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The petitioner argued that the present scenario of unemployable students coming out of private colleges is a direct result of unmotivated professors who are at the mercy of their managements<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Allegations<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mr Yadav, alleged that Private engineering colleges are in the practice of confiscating the original degrees and certificates of the recruited staff, withholding the salaries of the faculty\/staff for months with an intention to blackmail and harass the staff.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Colleges do not maintain the required student-staff ratio during entire terms.
