When the air contains <\/span><b>large amounts of ash or particles<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, raindrops collect them while falling. This process is called <\/span><b>atmospheric scavenging<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If particle concentration is very high, the rainwater appears <\/span><b>black, brown, or reddish<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> depending on the particles present.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In explosion affected regions, explosions releases significant quantities of<\/span><b> toxic hydrocarbon compounds, sulfur, and nitrogen oxides into the air. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As rain moved <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">through the pollutant-saturated skies, it absorbed these chemicals and fell back down as black rain.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Impact:<\/b> It may cause several <b>environmental problems <\/b>such as <b>contamination of soil, lakes, rivers, and groundwater. <\/b>It can also cause <b>human health problems <\/b>like <b>skin and respiratory issues <\/b>due to <strong>contact with contaminated water and air.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News: The World Health Organization has warned about health risks from &#8220;black rain&#8221; reported in Iran after oil facility fires.
