Logistics Intervention for Export Facilitation (RELIEF)<\/strong> scheme is <strong>time-bound and targeted measure <\/strong><strong>to support Indian exporters facing disruptions<\/strong> due to the evolving geopolitical situation in West Asia.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">It was initiated under the<strong> Export Promotion Mission (EPM).<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Nodal Ministry:<\/strong> <strong>Ministry of Commerce and Industry<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Financial outlay:<\/strong> Rs. <strong>497 crore<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Aim<\/strong>: It aimed at <strong>mitigating the impact of rising logistics costs, higher insurance premiums, and war-related risks<\/strong> affecting export consignments moving to or through the Gulf region.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Coverage:<\/strong> The scheme will cover shipments destined for countries including <strong>United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Iraq, Iran, Israel and Yemen.<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0It covers f<strong>ull container, partial container and refrigerated cargo <\/strong>excluding back-to-town cargo cases.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Nodal implementing agency:<\/strong> Under the RELIEF framework, <strong>Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India<\/strong> has been designated as the <strong>nodal implementing agency.<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>It will be\u00a0responsible for verification, claim processing, disbursement, and monitoring.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">It will include <strong>automatic extension of export obligations, logistical support, and potential financial measures<\/strong> to manage shipping delays<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">It will be implemented with a <strong>dashboard-based monitoring system to track claims and fund utilization in real time.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Components:<\/strong> The<strong> scheme comprises three key components<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Enhanced insurance coverage:<\/strong> Exporters with existing ECGC insurance <strong>will receive up to 100% risk coverage for eligible consignments<\/strong> shipped between February 14 and March 15, 2026, without additional cost.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Support for upcoming shipments:<\/strong> Exporters <strong>planning shipments between March 16 and June 15, 2026, can avail up to 95% risk coverage with government support,<\/strong> helping sustain trade flows.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Relief for MSMEs:<\/strong> <strong>Small exporters without ECGC <\/strong>cover during the disruption period will be eligible for<strong> partial reimbursement of up to 50%<\/strong> of increased freight and insurance costs, subject to <strong>a ceiling of \u20b950 lakh per exporter.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Review: <\/strong>The <strong>EPM Steering Committee will periodically review the scheme<\/strong> and make adjustments based on evolving geopolitical conditions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News:\u00a0The Commerce and Industry Ministry launched \u2018RELIEF\u2019 Scheme to ease pressure on exporters facing trade disruption due to the ongoing war in West Asia.
