{"id":359034,"date":"2026-03-26T15:35:14","date_gmt":"2026-03-26T10:05:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/?p=359034"},"modified":"2026-03-26T15:35:14","modified_gmt":"2026-03-26T10:05:14","slug":"globe-network","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/globe-network\/","title":{"rendered":"GlobE Network"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>News:<\/strong> India hosted the 12th Steering Committee Meeting of the Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities (GlobE Network) in New Delhi.<\/p>\n<h2>About GlobE Network<\/h2>\n<figure style=\"width: 356px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com\/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcS3Ce-CMfE4AwwLHHnaWDqDIpVMT3x-_WbsaA&amp;s\" alt=\"GlobE Network\" width=\"356\" height=\"237\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: GlobE Network<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li>Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities (GlobE Network) is a <strong>global platform of specialised anti-corruption law enforcement authorities.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Established in:<\/strong> It was <strong>established in 2021<\/strong> under the<strong> Riyadh Initiative<\/strong> during Saudi Arabia\u2019s G20 Presidency.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Members:<\/strong> A<strong>ll UN member states<\/strong> and<strong> state parties to the UN Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) are part of GlobE Network.<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>It consists of <strong>135 member countries and 250 member authorities<\/strong>, as well as <strong>18 observers,<\/strong> including EUROPOL, the World Bank, and the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities.<\/li>\n<li><strong>India&#8217;s membership:<\/strong> India joined the <strong>GlobE Network in 2022<\/strong>, with the <strong>Central Bureau of Investigation<\/strong> and the<strong> Directorate of Enforcement<\/strong> as its<strong> two designated member agencies<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>India<\/strong> is currently <strong>member of GlobE Steering Committee.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Structure:<\/strong> The organizational structure of the GlobE Network comprises <strong>three bodies<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Plenary:<\/strong> It is the<strong> governing body<\/strong>\u00a0responsible for making decisions relevant to the functioning of the GlobE Network.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Steering committee:<\/strong> It is the<strong> managing body<\/strong> of the GlobE Network.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Permanent Secretariat:<\/strong> It is responsible for <strong>supporting the effective functioning<\/strong> of the day-to-day activities of the Network.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>It is <strong>supported by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC)<\/strong> which provides the Network\u2019s secretariat.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Function:<\/strong>\u00a0It enables law enforcement authorities <strong>to work together across borders to detect, investigate, and prosecute corruption offenses.\u00a0<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>These authorities include<strong> anti-corruption agencies, police forces, prosecutor\u2019s offices and offices of the attorney general, asset recovery offices<\/strong> and<strong> financial investigation units.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>GlobE Secure Communications Platform (SCP)<\/strong>\u00a0is a highly <strong>effective platform <\/strong>for<strong> encrypted, real-time information exchange among member authorities.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>About United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC)<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) is the<strong> only legally binding universal anti-corruption instrument.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Adopted:<\/strong> It was <strong>adopted in 2003 by the General Assembly<\/strong> of the <strong>United Nations, <\/strong>New York.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Entered into force:<\/strong>\u00a014 December 2005<\/li>\n<li><strong>Status:<\/strong> It has <strong>140 signatories and 192 Parties<\/strong> (as of 25 September 2025).
