400;\">The Global Heat Health Information Network (GHHIN) is an <\/span><b>independent, member-driven platform<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> comprising scientists, practitioners, and policymakers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It focuses on <\/span><b>enhancing global capacity<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to protect populations from <\/span><b>avoidable health risks caused by extreme heat<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the context of a changing climate.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Launched in: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was <\/span><b>launched in 2016<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by experts from multiple founding institutions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Led by:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It is led by <\/span><b>World Health Organisation (WHO), World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) and\u00a0 United States National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Aim: <\/b>It<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> aims to <\/span><b>strengthen the capacity of professionals, organisations, and governments<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to safeguard populations from the <\/span><b>preventable health impacts of extreme ambient heat<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>Goals:<\/strong> The Network accelerates heat action through <strong>three goals:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Connect and empower people and institutions<\/strong> to <strong>form multi-disciplinary partnerships<\/strong> to reduce heat risks.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Accelerate the generation of evidence, actionable knowledge, and standardized guidance<\/strong> and risk metrics.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Catalyze global, national and local policy<\/strong> and action to minimize societal consequences of heat impacts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Key activities and programmes: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The network supports capacity-building through:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Biannual Global Forum on Heat and Health<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dissemination of <\/span><b>news, information, and knowledge<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> via an online platform<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Development of <\/span><b>inventories of Heat Health Action Plans and case studies<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Preparation of <\/span><b>country profiles<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Report:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It publishes <\/span><b>Global Synthesis Reports on Heat Health.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>About South Asia Hub of the Global Heat Health Information Network (GHHIN)<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>South Asia Hub of the Global Heat Health Information Network (GHHIN)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is a <\/span><b>regional initiative<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> aimed at <\/span><b>strengthening preparedness and response to extreme heat<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by translating scientific evidence into practical action.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Developed by:<\/strong> It is being<\/span> developed by the<b> Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW) <\/b>under the joint Climate and Health programme of the <strong>WHO<\/strong> and the <strong>WMO<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with support from the <\/span>Wellcome Trus<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">t.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>India&#8217;s Participation:<\/strong> The Hub will work closely with the <\/span><b>South Asia Climate and Health Desk at the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology and the India Meteorological Department.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Goal: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Its main goal is <\/span><b>to strengthen preparedness for extreme heat by converting scientific data into early warnings <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and actionable measures to protect communities.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It reflects a <\/span><b>One Health approach<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, bringing together climate science, public health, and partnerships to deliver solutions for saving
