{"id":361222,"date":"2026-04-21T16:07:03","date_gmt":"2026-04-21T10:37:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/?p=361222"},"modified":"2026-04-21T16:07:03","modified_gmt":"2026-04-21T10:37:03","slug":"dsc-a-23","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/dsc-a-23\/","title":{"rendered":"DSC A 23"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>News: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DSC A 23, the fourth ship of the five Diving Support Craft (DSC) project, was launched at Titagarh, Kolkata (WB).<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>About DSC A 23<\/h2>\n<figure style=\"width: 380px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/static.pib.gov.in\/WriteReadData\/userfiles\/image\/IMG_1400.JPGAMSQ.jpeg?resize=380%2C253&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"DSC A 23 (YARD 328)\" width=\"380\" height=\"253\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: PIB<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>DSC A 23<\/strong> is the<\/span><b> fourth ship <\/b>of the<b> five Diving Support Craft (DSC) project<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Launched on:<\/strong> It was launched on<strong> 19 Apr 2026<\/strong> at <strong>Titagarh, Kolkata (WB).<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Constructed by:<\/strong> It was constructed by <strong>M\/s Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd (TRSL), Kolkata.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is <\/span><b>designed and built in accordance with the Naval Rules and Regulations of the Indian Register of Shipping (IRS).<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has also undergone<\/span><b> extensive model testing and hydrodynamic analysis at NSTL, Visakhapatnam,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ensuring operational reliability and safety.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Features:<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It features <\/span><b>a 30-m catamaran hull design<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with a <\/span><b>displacement of around 380 tons.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This provides craft with <\/span><b>enhanced stability, larger working deck space, and improved sea-keeping capabilities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for coastal and harbour diving operations.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>70% of the main and auxiliary equipment<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in these crafts comes from indigenous manufacturers.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Already Inducted ships: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The<\/span><b> three ships of the five <\/b><b>Diving Support Craft (DSC) project <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">have already been launched, namely:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><b>DSC A22 (Yard 327)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Third ship)\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>DSC A 21 (Yard 326)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Second ship)\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/first-indigenous-diving-support-craft-dsc-a20\/\"><b>DSC A20 (Yard 325) <\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(First ship)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Significance: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Its induction will augment the <\/span><b>Diving Support, Underwater Inspection, Salvage Assistance and Coastal Operational Deployment capabilities <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of the Indian Navy.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News: DSC A 23, the fourth ship of the five Diving Support Craft (DSC) project, was launched at Titagarh, Kolkata (WB).
