{"id":361473,"date":"2026-04-24T15:24:49","date_gmt":"2026-04-24T09:54:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/?p=361473"},"modified":"2026-04-24T15:24:49","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T09:54:49","slug":"technology-development-and-investment-promotion-tdip-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/technology-development-and-investment-promotion-tdip-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"Technology Development and Investment Promotion (TDIP) Scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>News: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Revised guidelines for the Technology Development and Investment Promotion (TDIP) Scheme have been released to strengthen India\u2019s global telecom footprint.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>About Technology Development and Investment Promotion (TDIP) Scheme<\/h2>\n<figure style=\"width: 311px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/HGg8uyBacAADr3U?format=jpg&amp;name=small\" alt=\"Technology Development and Investment Promotion (TDIP) Scheme\" width=\"311\" height=\"440\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: DoT India<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Technology Development and Investment Promotion (<strong>TDIP<\/strong>) Scheme is an initiative to <strong>position India as a global leader in telecom innovation<\/strong>, standardisation and exports.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Nodal Ministry:<\/strong><\/span>Department of Telecommunications<b> (DoT), Ministry of Communications\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Implementation agencies:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It will be implemented through designated agencies, including the <\/span><b>Telecommunications Standards Development Society, India (TSDSI), Telecom Centres of Excellence, India (TCoE) and Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL).\u00a0<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These agencies will facilitate<\/span><b> coordination, capacity building and effective utilisation of resources.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Scheme type:<\/strong> It is a <strong>Central Sector Scheme.<\/strong>\u00a0<b>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Aim: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It <strong>aims<\/strong> a<\/span>t<b> strengthening India\u2019s participation in global telecom standardization<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span>accelerating the<b> development of indigenous telecom technologies.<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It also aims to <\/span><b>shift India from being a technology participant to a global standard-setter, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <strong>to drive the creation of intellectual property,<\/strong> enhance export potential, and improve the competitiveness of domestic telecom products and solutions.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Outlay:<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has a total outlay of <\/span><b>\u20b9203 crore for the period 2026\u201331.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><strong>Features:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has been designed as a <strong>comprehensive support framework<\/strong><\/span> to enable Indian entities<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to <\/span><b>actively contribute to global standards, promote innovation, and enhance India\u2019s competitiveness<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in next-generation telecommunications technologies, including <strong>5G Advanced and 6G.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It seeks to<\/span><b> enhance India\u2019s representation and <\/b><strong>influence<\/strong> in leading international telecom standardization bodies <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">such as the International Telecommunication Union (<strong>ITU<\/strong>), <strong>3GPP<\/strong> and <strong>oneM2M<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Scope expanded:<\/strong> The revised guidelines expanded the scope of the scheme to include <\/span><b>startups, MSMEs, academia, research institutions, telecom service providers and industry players<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to deepen ecosystem participation and foster collaborative innovation across the telecom value chain.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It also supports<\/span><b> pilot projects, proof-of-concept initiatives and technology demonstrations<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to facilitate transition from research to real-world deployment.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News: Revised guidelines for the Technology Development and Investment Promotion (TDIP) Scheme have been released to strengthen India\u2019s global telecom footprint.
