{"id":363808,"date":"2026-05-29T15:53:53","date_gmt":"2026-05-29T10:23:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/?p=363808"},"modified":"2026-05-29T15:53:53","modified_gmt":"2026-05-29T10:23:53","slug":"nirbhay-raho-initiative","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/nirbhay-raho-initiative\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Nirbhay Raho\u2019 Initiative"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"content-box-green\">\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong> Ministry of Panchayati Raj conducts Training of Trainers Program under \u2018Nirbhay Raho\u2019 Initiative to strengthen Women\u2019s Safety in Rural Areas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"red-h2-box\">About \u2018Nirbhay Raho\u2019 Initiative<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_363844\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-363844\" style=\"width: 398px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-363844\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Source-PIB-7.jpg?resize=398%2C285&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\u2018Nirbhay Raho\u2019 Initiative\" width=\"398\" height=\"285\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Source-PIB-7.jpg?resize=300%2C215&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Source-PIB-7.jpg?resize=768%2C550&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Source-PIB-7.jpg?w=926&amp;ssl=1 926w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 398px) 100vw, 398px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-363844\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source &#8211; PIB<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Initiative by:<\/strong> \u201cNirbhay Raho\u201d is an initiative under the<strong> Nirbhaya Fund in collaboration with the Ministry of Women and Child Development<\/strong> and the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru.<\/li>\n<li>It was launched<strong> on 11th March 2026.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Aim:<\/strong> The initiative aims to <strong>empower 14.5 lakh Elected Women Representatives<\/strong> through capacity building on legal rights and leadership an<strong>d sensitise 17.5 lakh Male Elected Representatives<\/strong> to promote gender equality and accountability.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Objective:\u00a0<\/strong>It has been launched<strong> to advance women\u2019s safety and empowerment in Panchayats.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Features: <\/strong> Nirbhay Raho framework operates through <strong>three distinct channels<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li><strong> Nirbhay Netri:<\/strong> It is focused on capacity building and legal awareness of Elected Women Representatives<\/li>\n<li><strong> Nirbhay Chetna:<\/strong> It aimed at sensitising elected male representatives towards gender equality and women-related issues<\/li>\n<li><strong>Nirbhay Drishti:<\/strong> It envisages the installation of CCTV cameras at strategic rural locations to strengthen technology-enabled safety infrastructure in Panchayats.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<table style=\"border-collapse: collapse; width: 100%;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 100%;\">\n<h2 class=\"red-h2-box\">About Nirbhaya Fund<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"263\">The Nirbhaya Fund Framework provides for a <strong>non-lapsable corpus fund for the safety and security of women.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"263\">It is to be administered by the <strong>Department of Economic Affairs (DEA) of the Ministry of Finance (MoF)<\/strong> of the Government of India.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"263\">Under this framework, <strong>an Empowered Committee reviews and recommends projects for funding,<\/strong> while concerned Ministries implement approved schemes.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"263\">As per this framework, the MoF, through DEA, is the <strong>nodal Ministry<\/strong> for <strong>any accretion into and withdrawal from the corpus.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"263\"><strong>Ministry of Women &amp; Child Development (MWCD)<\/strong>\u00a0is responsible<strong> for reviewing and monitoring the progress of sanctioned projects\/ schemes<\/strong> in conjunction with the concerned Central Ministries\/ Departments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News: Ministry of Panchayati Raj conducts Training of Trainers Program under \u2018Nirbhay Raho\u2019 Initiative to strengthen Women\u2019s Safety in Rural Areas.
