Farmers Welfare, Food Processing Industries, Commerce, MSME, APEDA, DPIIT, ICAR, CSIR, TRIFED, NERAMAC<\/strong> and the <strong>Government of Tripura<\/strong> for establishing an integrated pineapple value-chain ecosystem in the State.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Infrastructure component:<\/strong> It\u00a0will establish a<strong> &#8220;Hub &amp; PIB<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li>The Queen Pineapple is the<strong> state fruit of Tripura<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The variety is believed to have been<strong> cultivated over 200 years.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Climatic condition<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li>It is commercially propagated b<strong>y suckers in Tripura<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Slope Requirement:<\/strong> An area with<strong> 30\u201340% slope<\/strong> is generally selected for cultivation.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Soil:<\/strong> Its plants <strong>require sandy soil and good drainage<\/strong> to prevent water logging.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Temperature:<\/strong> Ideal temperature range of<strong> 180\u00b0C to 32\u00b0C<\/strong> is most favorable for its cultivation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Features:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>This pineapple is <strong>distinguished from pineapples grown in other parts of Northeast India<\/strong> due to its exceptional sweetness and unique aroma.<\/li>\n<li>It has <strong>high nutritional value<\/strong> and <strong>contains appreciable amounts of potassium and calcium<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>favorable climatic conditions for pineapple cultivation<\/strong> eliminate the need for chemical inputs, resulting in produce that is free from pesticide residues.<\/li>\n<li>When <strong>fully ripe, the fruits develop an attractive orange-yellow colour.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>It has got <strong>Geographical Indication (GI) tag in 2015.<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Tripura<\/strong>, is<strong> one of the largest pineapple growing states<\/strong> of India with <strong>commercial scale plantations<\/strong> spread across the state&#8217;s length and breadth.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News: The Government recently launched the \u201cMission Queen Pineapple\u201d for pineapple cultivation and value chain development in the State of Tripura.
