of India.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Cultivation region:<\/strong> It is cultivated mostly in the <strong>Garo hills of Assam.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>How it is cultivated<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>It contains <strong>fibroin<\/strong>, a core <strong>protein<\/strong>, and <strong>sericin<\/strong>, a protective<strong> waxy layer<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>It is extracted from the <strong>cocoons of <em>Antheraea assamensis<\/em>.<\/strong> It is wild in variety and fed on\u00a0<strong><em>som, sualu, mejankari, pan-chapa<\/em>\u00a0tree leaves. <\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Depending on the season,<strong> it acquires a rich golden yellow or light brown colour. <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Production:<\/strong> Typically, it takes<strong> about 1000 cocoons to produce 125 grams of silk<\/strong> and <strong>about 1000 grams of silk for one saree.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Properties:<\/strong> It is known for its unique propertie<strong>s like natural golden brilliance<\/strong>, <strong>a super fine texture<\/strong> <strong>which is resilient,<\/strong> has humidity absorption quality, thus having a <strong>long shelf life<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Use:<\/strong> Recently, there has been a lot of <strong>product innovation<\/strong> in muga silk, and it is currently seen as a<strong> potential raw material for aircraft tyres, bulletproof jackets and parachute ropes.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong class=\"Yjhzub\" data-sfc-root=\"c\" data-sfc-cb=\"\" data-copy-service-computed-style=\"font-family: &quot;Google Sans&quot;, Arial, sans-serif;
