width: 100%;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 100%;\">\n<h2 class=\"red-h2-box\">About Land Ports Authority of India<\/h2>\n<figure style=\"width: 215px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.lpai.gov.in\/themes\/tara\/images\/LPAI-Logo-new.jpg?resize=215%2C252&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\" Land Ports Authority of India\" width=\"215\" height=\"252\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: Land Ports Authority of India<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Nodal ministry:<\/strong> Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI) is a<strong> statutory body<\/strong> under the<strong> Department of Border Management, Ministry of Home Affairs.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Establishment:<\/strong> It was formally<strong> established in 2012.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Objective:<\/strong> Its objective is<strong> to reduce dwell time and trade transaction costs, promote regional trade and people-to-people connectivity, and adopt global best practices<\/strong> in border infrastructure and operations.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong> It is responsible fo<strong>r developing and managing modern land ports<\/strong> along India\u2019s international borders to ensure seamless and efficient movement of cargo and passengers.\n<ul>\n<li>Currently, LPAI operates<strong> 15 land ports<\/strong> across<strong> India\u2019s international borders.<\/strong> These are:\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Attari (Punjab) and Dera Baba Nanak (Punjab)<\/strong> along the<strong> India\u2013Pakistan border<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong> Rupaidiha (Uttar Pradesh), Raxaul (Bihar) and Jogbani (Bihar) <\/strong>along the<strong> India\u2013Nepal border<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong> Darranga (Assam)<\/strong> along the<strong> India\u2013Bhutan border<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong> Petrapole (West Bengal), Dawki (Meghalaya), Sutarkandi, Golakganj and Mankachar (Assam), Agartala, Srimantapur and Sabroom (Tripura) <\/strong>along the<strong> India\u2013Bangladesh border;
