Medical Buyer<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>High Energy Medical Cyclotron Project (HEMCP)<\/strong>\u00a0 is a <strong>state-of-the-art nuclear medicine facility<\/strong> designed to <strong>manufacture specialized short-lived medical radioisotopes for cancer diagnosis, treatment, and research.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0The project will be established <strong>at Bhansoli (Kinhi) in Hingna Taluka, Nagpur, Maharashtra.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Implementation Agency:<\/strong> The project will be Managed through &#8216;<strong>Mahacare&#8217; (Maharashtra Cancer Care, Research and Education Foundation)<\/strong> via a <strong>dedicated Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) under the Companies Act, 2013.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Working Mechanism:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Particle Acceleration:<\/strong> The <strong>cyclotron (special particle accelerator) accelerates charged subatomic particles<\/strong> using <strong>magnetic and radio-frequency electric fields<\/strong> inside a vacuum chamber.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Nuclear Transformation:<\/strong> The accelerated particles bombard stable target materials and <strong>transform them into short-lived radioactive isotopes.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Radiopharmaceutical Synthesis:<\/strong> The radioisotopes are chemically bonded with biological molecules to produce <strong>medical-grade radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and treatment purposes.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Key Features:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Total Cost:<\/strong> The estimated cost of the <strong>project is \u20b9300 crore.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Funding Model:<\/strong> A <strong>50:50 expenditure-sharing ratio<\/strong> between the <strong>Medical Education Department and the Industry Department.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Multi-State Service Coverage:<\/strong> The facility will benefit patients within a 500-km radius across <strong>Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Institutional Integration:<\/strong> The project will <strong>support AIIMS Nagpur, the National Cancer Institute, and the Government Medical College,<\/strong> strengthening regional cancer-care capacity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Major Applications:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>PET-CT Diagnostic Imaging:<\/strong> The facility will produce <strong>radioisotopes required for Positron Emission Tomography\u2013Computed Tomography (PET-CT) scans<\/strong> used in cancer diagnosis.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Nuclear Medicine Therapies:<\/strong> The project will <strong>support the creation of radiopharmaceuticals for targeted treatment of tumors.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Cancer Research:<\/strong> The facility will <strong>support oncological research, clinical trials, and the development of new imaging tracers<\/strong> and cancer therapies<span style=\"font-family: var(--global--font-secondary);
