ET<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI)<\/strong>\u00a0is a <strong>not-for-profit organization<\/strong> that <strong>strengthens India\u2019s Internet infrastructure<\/strong> and <strong>supports a secure, resilient, and inclusive Internet ecosystem.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Established:<\/strong>\u00a0It was <strong>established in\u00a02003.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Registered Under:<\/strong>\u00a0It is registered under <strong>Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Ministry Involved:<\/strong> It functions under the aegis of the <strong>Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Aim<\/strong>: NIXI was set up to <strong>facilitate the exchange of domestic Internet traffic within India<\/strong>, improve service quality, reduce latency, and lower international bandwidth costs.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Key Features of National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI)<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Internet Infrastructure Support:<\/strong> NIXI facilitates the <strong>efficient exchange of domestic Internet traffic among Internet Service Providers (ISPs), Content Delivery Networks (CDNs), and other entities,<\/strong> which helps route Internet traffic within India more efficiently.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Domain Management:<\/strong>\u00a0NIXI <strong>manages India&#8217;s .IN and .\u092d\u093e\u0930\u0924 (.Bharat) country-code top-level domains<\/strong> and currently administers more than 39 lakh .IN domain names, supporting the growth of India&#8217;s digital ecosystem.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Digital Inclusion:<\/strong> NIXI supports <strong>domain registrations in 22 Indian languages<\/strong> and promotes Internet services across the country.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Technology Advancement:<\/strong> It operates 79 Internet Exchange Points (IXPs) and has helped India achieve about 78.34% IPv6 adoption.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"red-h2-box\"><strong>About NIXI Digital Portals<\/strong><\/h2>\n<table style=\"border-style: solid;
