designed<strong> to integrate climate action into its development programmes and support countries in addressing climate change<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">It was established by the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/world-bank\/\">World Bank<\/a> in 2021.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Implementation period:<\/strong> It was for a duration of <strong>over 5 years (2021-2025).<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Aim:<\/strong> It aims<strong> to increase climate finance\u00a0<\/strong>to reduce emissions, strengthen climate change adaptation, and align financial flows with the goals of the Paris Agreement.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Actions:<\/strong> It translates the <strong data-start=\"291\" data-end=\"345\">Green, Resilient, and Inclusive Development (GRID)<\/strong> framework into practice through <strong>three strategic action areas<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Aligning Climate and Development: <\/strong>It <strong>integrates climate goals into national development planning and policies.<\/strong> It a<strong>ligns its activities with the Paris Agreement<\/strong> and expands climate finance to increase the impact of investments.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Prioritising Key Systems Transitions:<\/strong> It\u00a0focuses on<strong> key sectors, including energy, agriculture, cities, transport, and manufacturing.<\/strong> These sectors are<strong> prioritised to support low-carbon, climate-resilient, and sustainable development:\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Financing to Support the Transitions:<\/strong> It <strong>strengthens domestic public financing, mobilises private investment, and provides concessional finance<\/strong> to support climate action, particularly in developing countries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>It <strong>enabled the World Bank to significantly expand climate finance<\/strong>, reaching <strong data-start=\"413\" data-end=\"440\">$42.6 billion in FY2024<\/strong>, and to increase its climate finance target to <strong data-start=\"485\" data-end=\"518\">45% of total annual financing<\/strong>.\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Now, the <strong data-start=\"32\" data-end=\"58\">World Bank Group (WBG)<\/strong> has decided to <strong data-start=\"74\" data-end=\"112\">remove its climate finance targets<\/strong> after criticism from the <strong data-start=\"138\" data-end=\"155\">U.S.A <\/strong>which is its largest shareholder.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">It will now focus on the <strong data-start=\"781\" data-end=\"824\">actual development outcomes and results<\/strong> achieved, instead of
