style=\"font-weight: 400;\">at the prestigious Best Egmont Case Award (BECA) 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"red-h2-box\"><b>About Best Egmont Case Award (BECA) 2026<\/b><\/h2>\n<figure the highest recognitions within the Egmont Group.<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Note: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Egmont Group is an<strong> international network of over 180 Financial Intelligence Units (FIUs)<\/strong> that provides a secure platform for national agencies to share expertise and financial intelligence.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It acknowledges outstanding operational cases that <\/span><b>demonstrate excellence in financial intelligence, international cooperation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and contribution to combating money laundering and terrorist financing.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Established by:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It is<\/span><b> annual competition <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was <\/span><b>established in 2011 by the Training Working Group<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, now known as the <\/span><b>Technical Assistance and Training Working Group (TATWG).\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Goal<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: It is to <\/span><b>inspire Egmont members to contribute to the c\u2019s database<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on money laundering and terrorist financing cases.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Benefits: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It benefits the <\/span><b>Financial Intelligence Units (FIUs) and stakeholders in anti-money laundering\/combatting the financing of terrorism (AML\/CFT).\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>How it is selected:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The competition begins with<\/span><b> issuing a call letter by the BECA Champion<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, inviting all Egmont member FIUs to submit their finest cases.\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are<\/span><b> no restrictions on the number of cases that an FIU member can present.<\/b><\/li>\n<li>FIUs can <b>either submit cases independently or collaborate on joint submissions<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the end of the submission period,<\/span><b> a panel of four to six judges assesses all entries against a predefined set of criteria<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to identify the top two cases.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Finalist FIUs are invited to present their cases during the plenary session, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">where the Heads of FIU cast their votes for the case deemed most outstanding.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Prizes: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The winner is bestowed with the<\/span><b> prestigious BECA trophy.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>About Runner-up Winner:\u00a0<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Financial Intelligence Unit \u2013 India (FIU-IND)&#8217;s case <\/b>was selected<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as <strong>one of only two finalist cases<\/strong> among submissions from the <\/span><b>Egmont Group&#8217;s 182 member jurisdictions<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> before being adjudged the Runner-up at the Plenary.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<h2 class=\"red-h2-box\"><b>About Financial Intelligence Unit \u2013 India (FIU-IND)<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Financial Intelligence Unit \u2013 India (FIU-IND)<\/strong> is the<\/span><b> central national agency established in November 2004 <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">under the<\/span><b> Ministry of Finance.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is an<\/span><b> independent body reporting directly to the Economic Intelligence Council <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(EIC) <\/span><b>headed <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">by the <\/span><b>Finance Minister.<\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Sanctioned strength: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a<\/span><b> multi disciplinary body<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with a sanctioned strength of<\/span><b> 75 personnel.\u00a0<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These are being inducted from different organizations namely <\/span><b>Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC), Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI), Department of Legal Affairs and Intelligence agencies.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Function:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It is responsible <\/span><b>for receiving, processing, analyzing and disseminating information relating to suspect financial transactions.\u00a0<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is also responsible<\/span><b> for coordinating and strengthening efforts of national and international intelligence, investigation and enforcement agencies <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in pursuing the global efforts against money laundering and financing of
