WIPO<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The World Intangible Investment Report<\/strong>\u00a0presents <strong>annual and quarterly statistics on intangible investment<\/strong> across 29 economies and <strong>highlights global trends in knowledge-based investments.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Published by:<\/strong> The report is <strong>published every year<\/strong> by the <strong>World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)<\/strong> and <strong>Luiss Business School (LBS).<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>2026 Edition:<\/strong>\u00a0The 2026 report is the <strong>third edition<\/strong> of the World Intangible Investment Highlights.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tangible Investment:<\/strong> Tangible investment means spending on physical assets such as factories, machinery and buildings.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Intangible Investment:<\/strong>\u00a0Intangible investment means spending on non-physical assets such as research and development, software, databases, organisational know-how, brands, design and intellectual property.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Key Findings:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Global:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Growth Trend:<\/strong> Intangible investment has <strong>grown more than three times faster than tangible investment since 2008<\/strong> and exceeded USD 10 trillion in 2025.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Global Leaders:<\/strong>\u00a0The <strong>United States, Japan and Germany<\/strong> lead in the absolute size of intangible investment, while Sweden, the United States and France lead in investment intensity.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Asset Pattern:<\/strong>\u00a0Globally, <strong>organisational capital and research and development remain the leading categories<\/strong> of intangible investment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>India\u2019s Performance:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Fastest Growth:<\/strong> India <strong>recorded the fastest growth in intangible investment among the world&#8217;s 15 largest economies<\/strong>, reaching USD 78.2 billion in 2023 with 7.9% growth.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Major Components:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Software and databases accounted for 45% of India&#8217;s intangible investment,<\/strong> followed by organisational capital, research and development, design and brands.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Brand Growth:<\/strong> India emerged among the <strong>fastest-growing economies in brand investment<\/strong>, recording a compound annual growth rate of 7.2% during 2013\u201323.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<table style=\"width: 100%;
