making it one of the largest employment-generating crops in Indian agriculture.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Backbone of the Textile Industry<\/strong>: Cotton is the primary raw material for India&#8217;s textile sector, which is a major contributor to manufacturing GDP and one of the largest sources of industrial employment in the country.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Foreign Exchange Earnings<\/strong>: Cotton is one of the largest contributors to India&#8217;s net foreign exchange earnings through exports &#8211;
