The reforms aim to create a flexible, technology-driven and universal pension system.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"yellow-h2-box\"><strong>Key Features of EPFO 3.0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li><strong> Universal Pension Cover<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\">\n<li>EPFO 3.0 proposes a universal pension scheme based on a <strong>defined contribution framework<\/strong> for all workers.<\/li>\n<li>At the time of retirement, members will have the option to choose either an <strong>annuity<\/strong> or a <strong>Systematic Withdrawal Plan (SWP)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong> Multiple Sources of Contributions<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\">\n<li>The pension corpus will be built through contributions from workers, employers, government co-contributions for low-income workers, aggregators, CSR funds and other third parties.<\/li>\n<li>This is the first time that EPFO is proposing such a flexible contribution model.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong> Target Retirement Sum (TRS)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\">\n<li>Members will be able to set a <strong>Target Retirement Sum (TRS)<\/strong> according to their retirement goals.<\/li>\n<li>The system will calculate the required contribution amount and frequency and will allow members to revise their retirement target whenever required.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><strong> Personalised Digital Dashboard<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\">\n<li>Every member will have access to a personalised dashboard displaying total contributions, real-time corpus status and progress towards the Target Retirement Sum.<\/li>\n<li>The dashboard will help members monitor and plan their retirement savings effectively.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li><strong> Pension Simulation and Inflation-adjusted Projections<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\">\n<li>The platform will allow members to simulate their future pension based on variables such as age, retirement age, corpus and interest rate.<\/li>\n<li>It will also provide optional inflation-adjusted projections and compare multiple retirement scenarios to support informed decision-making.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li><strong> Flexible Withdrawal Options<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\">\n<li>Members opting for the Systematic Withdrawal Plan will be able to increase or decrease their monthly withdrawals after retirement.<\/li>\n<li>Lower withdrawals will allow interest to accumulate, while higher withdrawals will draw from the principal amount.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li><strong> Inclusion of Gig and Platform Workers<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\">\n<li>EPFO 3.0 aims to extend pension and provident fund benefits to nearly <strong>2.5 crore<\/strong> gig workers and Building and Other Construction Workers (BOCW) over the next five years.<\/li>\n<li>A single Universal Account Number (UAN) will be linked with multiple employers and aggregators while maintaining separate contribution records.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"8\">\n<li><strong> Third-party and Aggregator Contributions<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\">\n<li>The proposed system will allow contributions from NGOs, individuals, donor organisations, CSR funds and aggregators.<\/li>\n<li>It will also facilitate flexible co-contribution models for delivery partners, drivers and other platform workers.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"9\">\n<li><strong> Family and Survivor Pension<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\">\n<li>The proposal includes pension benefits for spouses, children and orphans through a pooled <strong>Family Benefit Fund<\/strong> managed on actuarial principles.<\/li>\n<li>This provision aims to strengthen social security for workers&#8217;
