Control (AEW&amp;C) MKII Programme<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is India&#8217;s <strong>next-generation airborne surveillance programme<\/strong> being developed for the <\/span><b>Indian Air Force (IAF)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Nodal agency: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Defence Research and Development Organisation (<strong>DRDO<\/strong>)<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Adani Defence &amp; Aerospace<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and the <\/span><b>Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have signed a landmark agreement for the development of the <\/span><b>AEW&amp;C MKII Programme<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Nodal lab: Centre for Air Borne Systems (CABS)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as the nodal laboratory, will give enhanced endurance and advanced airborne surveillance.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Features<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under the agreement, <\/span><b>Adani Defence &amp; Aerospace and DRDO will jointly develop, manufacture, and integrate the airborne mission systems<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The mission systems will be installed on <\/span><b>six modified Airbus A321 aircraft<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for the <\/span><b>Indian Air Force (IAF)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The programme also includes <\/span><b>integrated logistics, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), and technical support<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for a period of <\/span><b>up to 30 years<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The induction of the <\/span><b>AEW&amp;C MKII aircraft is planned for 2032\u201333<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Capabilities<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>AEW&amp;C aircraft<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, often described as the <\/span><b>&#8220;eyes in the skies,&#8221;<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are among the most critical assets in modern air warfare.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The platform will provide <\/span><b>long-range surveillance, early threat detection, and real-time command and control<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> capabilities.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Impacts<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: It will enable <\/span><b>faster and better-informed operational decision-making<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> during military operations.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>AEW&amp;C MKII<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will significantly enhance the <\/span><b>IAF&#8217;s situational awareness, force coordination, and network-centric operations<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the development of <\/span><b>AEW&amp;C MKII<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>India will join the select group of countries<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014the <\/span><b>United States, France, Israel, China, and Sweden<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014that have developed indigenous <\/span><b>Airborne Early Warning &amp;
