Telecommunications (DoT)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and the <\/span><b>Government of Madhya Pradesh<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> signed a <\/span><b>Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to establish <\/span><b>India&#8217;s first integrated Telecom Manufacturing Zone (TMZ)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in <\/span><b>Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>About:<\/strong> t is envisaged as a <\/span><b>350-acre integrated plug-and-play industrial cluster<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that will provide world-class infrastructure for <\/span><b>telecom and electronics manufacturing, research and development (R&amp;D), innovation, and allied activities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Objective:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The project aim<\/span><b>s to strengthen India&#8217;s domestic telecom manufacturing ecosystem, promote Aatmanirbhar Bharat, and position Gwalior as a major telecom and technology hub.<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0The initiative will complement the <\/span><b>India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS), and Telecom Technology Development Fund (TTDF)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Industry Participation:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Leading companies, including <\/span><b>Dixon Technologies, HFCL, Tejas Networks, VVDN, and Syrma SGS<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, are among the industry players expected to anchor the proposed zone.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Governance:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> A <\/span><b>Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be established to implement the project, with <\/span><b>51% equity held by the Government of Madhya Pradesh<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>49% by the Department of Telecommunications<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Budgetary allocation:<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Central Government Support:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The <\/span><b>Central Government<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will provide <\/span><b>100% funding for Phase-I<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with an allocation of <\/span><b>\u20b9493 crore<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for the development of core infrastructure.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>State Government Support:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The <\/span><b>Government of Madhya Pradesh<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has provided approximately <\/span><b>170 acres of land free of cost<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, including <\/span><b>100 acres in the SADA region<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>70 acres in the Gwalior IT Park<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with a combined value of around <\/span><b>\u20b9596 crore<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Additional land will be made available at a <\/span><b>nominal premium of \u20b91<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and an annual lease rent of <\/span><b>\u20b91 per square metre for 30 years<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Features:<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Telecom Manufacturing Zone will integrate the <\/span><b>entire telecom value chain<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, covering <\/span><b>mobile devices, optical fibre, advanced semiconductor technologies, and next-generation 5G\/6G research and development<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will also house <\/span><b>dedicated R&amp;D centres, common testing laboratories, and certification facilities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Incentives:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Units established in the Telecom Manufacturing Zone will receive <\/span><b>reimbursement of stamp duty and registration charges, power tariff rebates, and other fiscal incentives<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The policy also provides a <\/span><b>50% capital subsidy on Eligible Fixed Capital Investment (EFCI)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (up to <\/span><b>\u20b9200 crore<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">), <\/span><b>employment generation assistance of \u20b95,000 per employee per month for five years<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><b>skill development support of up to \u20b913,000 per new employee<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>R&amp;D and Export Promotion:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Eligible units will be provided <\/span><b>50% freight subsidy<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for exports, financial support for <\/span><b>standalone R&amp;D units<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><b>100% reimbursement<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of expenses incurred for filing <\/span><b>patents, copyrights, and trademarks<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, within prescribed limits.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Expected Outcome:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It is expected to <\/span><b>reduce import dependence, promote exports, strengthen domestic supply chains, enhance telecom security, and establish India as a global hub for telecom manufacturing and innovation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight:
