Natural Gas.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Budget outlay: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has an approved outlay of <\/span><b>Rs.84,084 crore.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Implementation Duration: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has implementation during up<\/span><b> to FY 2030\u201331.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Features: The scheme includes:<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Large-scale acquisition, processing and interpretation<\/strong> of high-quality seismic data.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Accelerated exploratory drilling in deepwater<\/strong> and ultra-deepwater areas.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Scientific drilling<\/strong> in frontier sedimentary basins.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Development of common offshore production<\/strong> and evacuation infrastructure.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Establishment of an integrated Oil &amp; Gas Manufacturing<\/strong> and Services Zone.<\/li>\n<li>Dedicated provisions for <strong>digital programme management, capacity building, technology adoption, stakeholder engagement<\/strong> and international outreach.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Key Components of the scheme:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Acquisition and processing of modern offshore seismic data\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Drilling of 60 deepwater exploration wells\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Development of common offshore infrastructure hubs to facilitate commercialisation of discoveries; and\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Establishment of Oil and Gas Manufacturing and Services Zones to promote domestic manufacturing and localisation of critical equipment and services<\/span><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Expected outcomes:<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Reserve accretion of over 600 Million Metric Tons of Oil Equivalent <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(MMTOE).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Significant<\/span><b> increase in offshore exploration and domestic oil and gas production<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and development of a globally competitive ecosystem for offshore technologies and services.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Increased investments across the exploration and production value chain<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, driving innovation and long-term economic growth.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The scheme is <\/span><b>expected to enhance India&#8217;s long-term energy security by unlocking offshore energy resources,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> strengthening technological capabilities and creating sustainable economic value.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Large-scale employment generation and strengthening of indigenous manufacturing <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">under the Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News: The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved &#8216;Samudra Manthan (National Offshore Exploration Scheme).
