Its first edition was held in <strong>2019.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Objective:<\/strong> The primary goal of the exercise was <strong>to assess and refine operational principles to address emerging aerial threats from unmanned systems.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Theme:<\/strong> Its theme was <strong>\u201cCounter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (Counter-UAS)\u201d.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Features<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The exercise brought together <strong>IAF helicopter units<\/strong> to enhance combat readiness and validate operational concepts against emerging aerial threats.<\/li>\n<li>The exercise involved a diverse range of IAF helicopters, including <strong data-start=\"70\" data-end=\"86\">AH-64 Apache<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"88\" data-end=\"100\">Mi-25\/35<\/strong>, and the indigenous <strong data-start=\"121\" data-end=\"137\">LCH Prachand<\/strong> attack helicopters, as well as <strong data-start=\"169\" data-end=\"180\">Chinook<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"182\" data-end=\"191\">Mi-17<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"197\" data-end=\"206\">Dhruv<\/strong> transport and utility helicopters.<\/li>\n<li>It focused on<strong> improving the helicopter fleet&#8217;s capability<\/strong> to counter <strong>unmanned aerial systems (UAS)<\/strong> through integrated operations.<\/li>\n<li>Helicopters carried out <strong>precision strikes, reconnaissance, troop insertion, casualty evacuation, battlefield support, and coordinated combat missions<\/strong> in realistic scenarios.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News: The Indian Air Force (IAF) concluded the week-long Exercise ROTOR CLAP III at the Pokhran Field Firing Range in Rajasthan.
