islands of al Hallaniyyat are<b> located in the north east of Dhofar (South of Oman)<\/b><b>.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><strong>Administrative control:<\/strong> It is administratively under<b> Wilayat Shalim and al Hallaniyyat Islands <\/b>of Sultanate of<b> Oman.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is an <\/span><b>archipelago <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">made up <strong>o<\/strong><\/span><b>f four main islands and small rocky islets.<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li>The four islands are named as<b> Al-Hasikiyah, Al-Sawda, Al-Hallaniyah, Qarzawit, and Al-Qibliyah.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Al Hallaniyyat<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is the <\/span><b>biggest island<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> among the four islands and is occupied by 250 persons.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Physiography:\u00a0<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The four main islands are<\/span><b> generally hilly but with some flat areas, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">especially on the most easterly and most westerly islands.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are also <\/span><b>some small, rocky islets.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>terrain is very rugged in some islands,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and there is a massive limestone cliff at the northeastern side of the <\/span><b>Hallaniyyat Islands.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The islands are characterized by rocky <\/span><b>sub littoral mixed coral and phaeophyte, and coastal cliffs<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with predominantly sandy sub littoral.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The area overlaps with the <\/span><b>Halaaniyaat Islands Key Biodiversity Area and the Oman Arabian Sea Ecologically or Biologically Significant Marine Area.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Flora and Fauna:<\/strong> Shallow waters contain highly diverse and<\/span><b> largely undisturbed corals, sponges, seaweeds, algae, fish, and other marine life.\u00a0<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The islands are an important nesting area for <\/span><b>Loggerhead turtles<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><b>Green turtles<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are also present.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The surrounding waters support several<\/span><b> marine mammals, including
