This provides improved propulsion efficiency and operational performance.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is equipped with an<\/span><b> advanced integrated machinery control system to enhance operational readiness, efficiency and sustainability.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Crew for operation: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will be operated by a<\/span><b> crew of 6 officers and 35 sailors.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Purpose:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It has been designed to undertake a range of <strong>critical maritime security missions<\/strong>, including fisheries protection, Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) surveillance, coastal patrolling, anti-smuggling and anti-piracy operations and also search and rescue missions.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News: Recently, the Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) formally handed over ICGS Ajit (Yard 1277) to the Indian Coast Guard.
