justify;\">\n<li><strong>Location:<\/strong> \u00a0Rajghat is located on the <strong>north-eastern edge of Varanasi<\/strong> near the <strong>confluence of the Ganga and Varuna rivers.<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>It is one of the most <strong>important archaeological sites in the middle Ganga Valley.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>According to archeologists, the area was <strong>part of ancient Varanasi,<\/strong> which served as the <strong>capital of the Kashi kingdom. <\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It is\u00a0also known as the<strong> Kashi Mahajanpad.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>First Excavation at Rajghat:<\/strong> The first archaeological remains at the site were <strong>discovered in 1939 during the expansion of the Kashi railway station<\/strong>.\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Further, excavations were carried out<strong> jointly by the ASI and BHU between 1957 and 1969<\/strong>, under the supervision of<strong> BHU Professor A K Narain and archaeologist T N Roy.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Findings during the excavation:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The excavations uncovered remains of ancient settlements, including <strong>structures believed to be houses, terracotta objects, seals, and many other artefacts.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"red-h2-box\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Key Findings from Rajghat Excavations<\/h2>\n<figure site<\/strong>, which had <strong>remained sealed for about 70 years.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The excavated boxes contain <strong>sculptures, ancient coins, tools, stamp seals, and objects made of copper, ivory, and bone.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Inscriptions and script:<\/strong> Several seals bearing<strong> inscriptions, including some written in the Brahmi script<\/strong> were also found.\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">These findings can help researchers understand the <strong>scripts, governance systems, trade, and economic systems<\/strong> of the periods in which they were used.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Photographs n<\/strong><strong>egatives<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong> The boxes also contains a<strong>round 3,000 glass slides and more than 5,000 photographic negatives<\/strong> documenting a<strong>rchaeological sites<\/strong> across<strong> India- Rajghat, Manjhi, Ratnagiri, Ajanta and Ellora.<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The photographs <strong>record what these sites looked like<\/strong> before years of weathering, restoration, and modern development changed some of them.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">They also contain <strong>rare images of idols of Lord Vishnu, Shiva, and
