Context: <\/strong>The ongoing Iran war has escalated tensions across West Asia<\/strong>, with the conflict increasingly spreading beyond Iran and the United States. The involvement of regional actors and disruption of vital trade routes has created the possibility of an economic and security crisis across the region<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Key developments in the conflict<\/strong><\/h2>\n
    \n
  1. The US has carried out strikes on Iranian oil tankers in the Gulf waters<\/strong>, following what it described as Iranian attacks on US warships.<\/li>\n
  2. Iran responded with a massive ballistic missile attack on a US air base in Jordan<\/strong> and warned of a stronger response to further US attacks.<\/li>\n
  3. Iran has also declared a restricted zone in the Strait of Hormuz<\/strong>, warning commercial ships against crossing it without American naval escort.<\/li>\n
  4. Yemen\u2019s Houthis<\/strong>, aligned with Iran, have attacked Saudi Arabia<\/strong>, causing casualties and injuries.<\/li>\n
  5. The Houthis have also imposed a naval blockade on Saudi Arabia\u2019s western ports<\/strong> and launched an offensive against Saudi-backed forces in Taiz and Mocha<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
