Context <\/strong>India has joined the US-led \u2018Call to Action for 6G Leadership and Security\u2019<\/strong>, along with 25 other countries, to promote secure, interoperable and resilient 6G networks. The initiative complements India’s existing Bharat 6G Vision and Bharat 6G Alliance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Key features of the US-led initiative<\/strong><\/h2>\n

  1. The initiative seeks to promote open, interoperable, secure, resilient, AI-supported and resource-efficient 6G networks<\/strong>.<\/li>\n

    Bharat 6G Mission<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    1. India\u2019s Bharat 6G Vision<\/strong>, released in March 2023, aims to make India a frontline contributor to the design, development and deployment of 6G technologies by 2030<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    2. The Bharat 6G Vision is based on the principles of affordability, sustainability and ubiquity<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    3. The Bharat 6G Alliance (B6GA)<\/strong> brings together Indian industry, telecom service providers, academia, national research institutions and standards organisations.<\/li>\n
    4. B6GA is an industry-led body facilitated by the government<\/strong> and focuses on strengthening indigenous 6G research and development.<\/li>\n
    5. B6GA has established international partnerships with the US Next G Alliance, Europe\u2019s 6G-IA, Finland\u2019s 6G Flagship, South Korea\u2019s 6G Forum, Japan\u2019s XGMF, NGMN Alliance and 6G Brasil<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    6. These international partnerships are intended to promote collaborative research and standardisation<\/strong> in 6G.<\/li>\n
