Udayavani<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Tulu <\/strong>is a <strong>Dravidian language.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is mainly spoken in<strong> two coastal districts, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi of Karnatak<\/strong>a and <strong>Kasaragod district of Kerala.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Kasaragod district<\/strong> is called the <strong>\u2018Sapta bhasha Samgama Bhumi (the confluence of seven languages)\u2019<\/strong> and<strong> Tulu is one among the seven.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">This region is informally known as <strong>Tulu Nadu.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">It has<strong> borrowed many words from the Kannada language<\/strong> but\u00a0they are not closely related.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <strong>Tulu script<\/strong> is also<strong> known as the Tigalari script<\/strong> and it has <strong>resemblance with Malayalam script.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <strong>Tulu speakers<\/strong> are known as <strong>Tuluvas.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <strong>oldest available inscriptions in Tulu<\/strong> are from the<strong> period between 14th to 15th centuries AD.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Tulu <\/strong>has a <strong>rich oral literature tradition<\/strong> with<strong> folk-song forms like paddana and traditional folk theatre yakshagana.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">It also has an<strong> active tradition of cinema, with around 5 to 7 Tulu language movies<\/strong> produced a year.\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Moreover, <\/strong>Tulu films are <strong>screened every day in Mangalore and Udupi<\/strong> in at least one theater.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"iNqyIf\" data-sfc-cp=\"\" data-sfc-root=\"ep\" data-complete=\"true\" data-copy-service-computed-style=\"font-family: &quot;Google Sans&quot;, Arial, sans-serif, &quot;Noto Color Emoji&quot;;
