Sikki is a grass-like weed that grows on the banks of the Ganges. <\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Women<strong> collect and dry it,<\/strong> giving it a lustrous golden hue and coarse texture.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Method:<\/strong> The common <strong>long grass is wired and stitched together with the Pasikki,<\/strong> dyed in several <strong>different shades,<\/strong> using a<strong> thick needle called Takua. <\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The craft products often depict the <strong>daily rhythms of craftsperson&#8217; lives<\/strong> to their<strong> natural surroundings, mythological and religious aspects. <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Items made: Replicas of gods, goddess and temples depicting Hindu epics<\/strong> to modem functional items like tray, baskets, pen stand, necklaces, bangles etc. are also crafted artisans weave baskets, boxes, trays, and decorative pieces by hand.\n<ul>\n<li>The craft is known for its <strong>beautiful patterns and bright accents.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Recognition:<\/strong> It was recognized with the<strong> GI tag in 2007.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News: The cultural richness of Bihar finds expression in a collection of 65 mementos featured in the PM Mementos e-Auction 2026 including Manjusha\/Angika Art and Sikki Grass Art.
